Early British modern jazz was not extensively recorded and what was, by small independent labels such as Tempo and Esquire, was only pressed in small quantities. I’ve often been disappointed when I’ve bought a recording, hoping that Phil played on it, to research and find that he didn’t. This section provides the opportunity to make these recordings of the era that are in my archive, more widely available.
